Miley Cyrus Rant.

                                                                          Hey beauts,
I contemplated for a bit about whether I should post this as I'm not really one to voice my opinion on certain subjects but I just feel that I need to on the issue of Miley Cyrus' VMA performance. Now, I know I am a fan of Miley but that doesn't affect my opinion on the situation. I just feel that it's quite ridiculous that people can brand Miley as 'racist' for her performance which I do not agree with at all. Since the performance Miley has been the talk of the world and every time I log into Twitter the talk still continues. Branding someone as a 'racist' is such a big thing to put out there and I in no way agree that her performance came across like that. I feel as if people think 'twerking' is only for black people when in fact anybody is allowed to twerk, black or not. A lot of people seem to have an issue with the fact that her dancers were all black and she's white.. What's the problem? as Ally actually tweeted today "But if Alexandra Burke was on stage with white dancers and danced "white" no one would say anything" I completely agree with this and think there is no certain way black, white or any race in general dances, everyone is different.

I personally don't like twerking but that doesn't mean I'd go round saying disgusting things about women or even men who do it. Some of the ladies on stage are actually apart of an LA dance group and it just so happens that they're all black.. People act as if having all black dancers when you aren't black yourself is some sort of crime. People need to stop acting as if Miley has just spiraled out of control from nowhere, Miley is just expressing herself and I do agree that the performance was a bit much and that it would've been better if she had toned it down but I don't think that gives people the right to call her a slut and a racist. Also, why is no one blasting Robin Thicke? I know Miley was the one doing the twerking and grinding but he is just as big a part as she is.

People need to over the fact that Miley isn't and never was Hannah Montana, she's an actress and of course that was such a big role in kick starting her career but I just think Miley is much different to how she played Hannah. She's expressing herself and showing that she's moved on from her Disney days and I do think she doesn't need to try so hard but you can't keep comparing her now to a character she played. Of course back in her Disney days Miley had to be squeaky clean because that's where she worked and anything she did then also effected them. Miley is trying to break away from her Disney days as we can tell but I do again agree that she honestly doesn't have to try so hard. If you really think about it, Miley did everything in moderation... We slowly started to see her own individual style forming, her hair then got shorter and then it got even shorter and then obviously We Can't Stop came out and was pretty different from what everyone expected it to be like. I don't really know where I'm going with this but I just think people need to be really careful with words that they throw out into the world.

What do you think about this whole situation?

  3. You tell them Vanese! I'll agree it wasn't here best performance, but I hate the fact that from it she is now been branded a 'skank' or 'racist'. Especially when girls are saying this, where's all the girl power gone?! X

    1. Thanks so much Zoe, it's so annoying how people think its okay to say really hateful things like that. Tell me about it, the girl power needs to come back instead of girls calling each other horrible names!

  4. I've seen a couple of people joking that it's racist (that spoof video) but not being serious! Geez, if anyone actually believes that they need their head examined.

As for Miley's performance, I was slightly horrified. I used to drool all over her wardrobe but now she's obviously going through 'a phase'... I watched her in an interview a few weeks back where she said she's 20 and she's allowed to try new things and mess up - totally true! The most disturbing part of that performance was the twerking into Robin Thicke's crotch...YUCK! Shame on him, he's acting like an old perve, she's just a girl who is working through stuff and wants attention.

She also said in an interview that 'only Britney gets it' so I'm excited to hear their new song. I remember the public outcry when Slave 4 U came out!

Everyone is definitely overreacting but I wasn't impressed by her performance, her vocals were more shocking than her (lack of) outfit or dance moves. I don't like the fact she's glorifying drugs either by singing about Molly. It drives me nuts when celebrities talk so fondly of drugs, what they do in private is their own business but they need to realise they have impressionable young fans, whether they want them or not. Gaga & Rihanna - I'm also looking at you!

Anyhoo, RANT OVER. Hahaha! Hugs not drugs.

    1. Exactly, I can't believe some people can actually believe that.

Yeah she's trying out new things which she's allowed but she just doesn't need to try so hard at all. Definitely shame on Robin, he thinks he's in the clear with the performance but people are starting to see he was also in the wrong.

Ooh, it's so exciting. Obviously Miley and Britney can relate a lot to one another.

I agree, so many people have young fans whether they like it or not and I think sometimes artists forget that people will copy what they do so they need to put that into consideration and that especially applies with all the drug talk!Haha, loving you using hugs not drugs. ;) Thanks for the comment lovely.

  5. It's ridiculous this situation! Rihanna is way worse in my eyes, and people are obsessed with her. Like you said people change, and she isn't doing anyone any harm, leave her be.

    1. It definitely is ridiculous, I agree with you Molly. She isn't doing any harm but still people find anything and everything to use against her, it's so annoying!

  6. I'm not particularly a Miley fan but I couldn't agree with you more! What I don't get is why people feel the need to make it their business what this girl gets up to, she is not hurting anyone. I also hate how twerking is a 'black thing.'Erm... No it's not, I'm sure it's actually a stripper move lol! Great post hun xx

    1. Agreed lovely, I know she's in the public eye and everything but some people need to take a step back and focus on their own lives rather than hers. Haha, love how you said stripper move. ;) I really hate how people say it's a black thing... Its like no sorry it's for anyone. Thanks Lydia.

  7. I love Miley and I think people should leave her alone. I loved her performance even though it was a bit out there but she is who she is. She shouldn't try to hide who she is because people can't handle it. And as for everyone who is calling her a racist, they are the racist ones.

    1. Yeah, people totally need to give her a break. Yeah it must be hard for her to be herself without people judging her. It's so ridiculous to call her racist/her performance. People need to chill!
